Some clients prefer to avoid the redundancy inherent to both a 20 minute consult and an initial appointment and would like to jump right in. If this is you, feel free to self-schedule a 50 minute initial appointment. If after a 50 minute initial session either you or I decide that it is not a good fit, you will not be charged for the session.
Others prefer to start more gradually and get a sense of me before committing to a 50 minute session. If so, please self-schedule a no-charge 20 minute consultation. I’m happy to meet with you in either circumstance- the most important consideration is that you find a therapist that you are comfortable working with.
I believe that mental health care should not be cost prohibitive. My standard fee allows me to “pay forward” counseling services to those with lower household incomes. I reserve about 25% of my sessions to be sliding scale and work with Open Path Collective to make sure that those in need of reduced fees are able to access counseling services without discrimination. *My Open Path sliding scale sessions are full. Please email me if you would like to be added to a waitlist for potential openings.
Insurance Assistance:
-I do not accept insurance at this time. However, to ease the burden of establishing care, I contact your insurance company to see what your reimbursement rate/etc is for out-of-network therapy and provide you with that information.
-I work with a third party biller who submits your reimbursement claims to insurance and follows up as needed to ensure you get reimbursed.
Many clients find that after partial or full reimbursement, they may pay the equivalent to a copay for each session. However, if you explore out-of-network benefits and find that it remains cost prohibitive, I will do my best to refer you to therapists who are in-network with your insurance. The most important consideration is that you find a therapist who is a sustainable investment in your well-being.
I do not provide emergency or crisis counseling services. Please call the King County Crisis Line at 1-866-427-4747 or 911 if you are experiencing mental health symptoms that require an immediate response.
You have the right to a “good faith estimate” described here, which I will provide for you if we decide to work together.
